Occurrence and Molecular Phylogeny of Economically Relevant Viruses Infecting Honey Bees (<i>Apis mellifera</i> L.) of Bingöl Province, Turkey

Abstract In this study, we conducted a six-month survey to evaluate the current status of three common honey bee viruses (black queen cell virus [BQCV], acute paralysis [ABPV], and sacbrood [SBV]) in Turkey’s Bingöl region revealed their phylogenetic relationships with same types other parts world. We randomly sampled 384 worker bees from total 128 apiaries different locations region. Molecular tests confirmed presence SBV BQCV, infection rates 7.03% 11.7%, respectively, but ABPV could not be detected any surveyed apiaries. addition, double was an apiary rate 0.78%. The sequences partial polyprotein gene selected isolate each were collected registered GenBank under accession numbers MZ357971 MZ357972 for MZ357974 BQCV. nucleotide sequence similarity Turkish BQCV isolates 75.71–96.58% 85.96–92.98%, respectively.
